John Henry Rathjen, Jr., 84, of Honea Path, formally of Charleston South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Monday, April 2, 2018. His Funeral Service will be held Friday, April 6, 2018 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, 232 Calhoun Street at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday in the Downtown Chapel from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

John was born January 1, 1934 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late John Henry Rathjen, Sr. and Lieselotte Kehbein Rathjen. He was a retired chemist.

He is survived by his cousin Janet Williamson.
