John Nicholas Peecksen, Jr.

John Nicholas Peecksen, Jr., 80, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Carol Metz Peecksen, entered into eternal rest Monday, October 10, 2022. His Funeral Service will be held Monday, October 17, 2022, in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 604 Pitt Street, Mt. Pleasant, at 11:30 a.m.  Following the service, the interment will be at Magnolia Cemetery, 70 Cunnington Ave, Charleston.
 
The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. in St. Paul's Social Hall before the service. 
 
John was born November 2, 1941, in Charleston, South Carolina, the son of the late John Nicholas Peecksen, Sr. and the late Edna Warren Peecksen.  A graduate of Charleston High School and Newberry College, John worked as the Data Processing Manager for Carolina Shipping Company in Charleston. He proudly served South Carolina in the Army National Guard. A member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Mt. Pleasant for more than 50 years, John was active in the men’s activities, participating in volunteer building projects and more. He passed on his love of the outdoors to both of his sons, and his family will always remember how well he showed his love for them.
 
He is survived by his wife of 57 years; two sons and their wives, John and Shandra Peecksen of Savannah, GA, and Scott Peecksen and Gina Branton of Belmont, NC; and four grandchildren, Katherine, Caroline, Taye Rose, and Sam.
