John "Jack" Francis O'Leary

John "Jack" Francis O'Leary, 91, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, entered eternal rest on Sunday, October 26, 2025 following illness since August. His Funeral Service will be held Friday, October 31, 2025, in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday, October 30, 2025, at J. Henry Stuhr, Mount Pleasant Chapel, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Born on October 29, 1933, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, Jack was the son of the late Joseph O'Leary and the late Margaret Vatter O'Leary. He dedicated his life to his wife and four daughters with hard work and meaningful contributions to his community. His entire career was with the Pennsylvania Power Company. After retirement they moved to Mt. Pleasant, SC and he enjoyed volunteering his time coaching the Wando High School Track & Field team and even played men’s softball for many years. He was a member of Christ Our King Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant, SC.

He is survived by four daughters, Jackie O'Rourke (Tom) of Mount Pleasant, SC, Cindy Squeglia (Frank) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Marlene O'Leary (Rob-deceased) of Alpine, WY, Kelley Chapman (Jeff) of McDonald, PA; one brother, Don O'Leary (Jane) of Indianapolis, IN; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia O'Leary, three brothers, Joseph “Jo-Jo” O’Leary, Bill O'Leary (Kaye), and Bob “Uncle Bob” O'Leary; and two sisters, Pat Pugh (Ming) and Peggy “Sis” Brown (Emil).

In memory of his dear wife, he wanted memorials made to the Alzheimer's Association, 320 Nevada St., Suite 201, Newton, MA 02460.
