John Egbert Murray, 88, husband of the late Gloria Elizabeth Cook Murray of Mt. Pleasant, SC passed away on Monday, June 18, 2012. All Services will be private. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.
John was born on October 7, 1923 in Turin, Italy, son of the late Gerald Murray and Dorothy (Murray) Murray. He was a retired Commander with the United States Coast Guard and worked as an engineer with the United States Navy.
He is survived by his sons, John A. Murray (Helen Skelton) of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Michael V.A. Murray (Susan) of Chapel Hill, NC; grandchildren,, Steven Murray of Oxford, CT, Andrew Murray, William Murray and Christopher Murray, all of Chapel Hill, NC and many nieces and nephews.
