John Frederick Muirhead, Jr.

His celebration of life will be held at 11:00am on Friday, February 24, 2023 at East Cooper Baptist Church, 361 Egypt Road, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464. Family will be receiving guests from 10:00am – 11:00am in the foyer. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel.

Jack was born September 12, 1937, in Cooper, Pennsylvania, son of the late John Frederick Muirhead and the late Alma Litke Muirhead.  He grew up in DuBois, PA and graduated from Penn State University, where he met and married the love of his life, Barbara, and then worked as a petroleum and mining engineer for many years in Pittsburgh and Denver.

Jack will be remembered for the way he loved the Lord, his family and his church, his constant generosity, and his care for those in need. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.  

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara Bell Muirhead; children, Timothy Muirhead (Bonnie) of Knoxville, TN, Jennifer Glander (Brian) of Denver, CO, and David Muirhead (Angela) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; grandchildren, Amanda Cherepanov, Paige Muirhead, Taylor Muirhead, Chandler Glander, Shelby Muirhead, Brandon Glander and John "Jack" Muirhead; siblings, James Muirhead of Manchester, NH, Dorothy Campbell of Indiana, PA, and Victoria Litke of Midland, MI; and several nieces and nephews.
