John Roland Mitchum, 61, of McClellanville, South Carolina, husband of Brenda L. Gaskins Mitchum died Monday, October 10, 2016. His Graveside Service will be held Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Wrens United Methodist Church Cemetery, Highway 45, McClellanville, at 12:00 p.m. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel.
John was born October 1, 1955 in Charleston County, SC, son of the late John Roland Mitchum and Remona Ann King. He honorably served in the United States Navy. He was a dispatcher for Gregorie Oil Co. and he worked for the Gregorie family for over 30 years. John was a member of Five Fathom Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters: Sarita Mitchum (James Tillman) of Mount Pleasant, SC and Sarina Mitchum (Michael Fine) of Orlando, FL; two sisters: Ethel Iris Stephens of Cross and Marcella Grace Thomason; grandson, Roman Fine; mother-in-Law, Mary Gaskins of McClellanville, SC; and cousin, Cheryl Davis.
