John Harvey McChesney

John Harvey McChesney, 64, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, July 9, 2024. His Funeral Service will be held Monday, July 15, 2024, in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road at 10:00 am with a reception to follow. John was born October 9, 1959, in Abington, Pennsylvania, son of Karen Strand McChesney and the late James McChesney. He received his bachelor’s degree in hospitality from Johnson and Wales University in 1984. 

John thrived in the hospitality industry working for Ramada Inn, Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn, Sleep Inn, and Doubletree Hotel. After many years in hospitality, John used his experience to become a Sales Associate for Dillard’s Department Store in North Charleston over the last decade.

John’s many interests included traveling, do-it-yourself home projects, tending to his garden and koi pond, caring for his cherished cats, engaging in karaoke, and, of course, spending quality time with his good friends, Carla Adams and Mike Luciano. 

John is survived by his mother, Karen McChesney of Millis, MA; his sister, Betsy Daubney (Ned) of Holliston, MA; his nephews, Eric Daubney (Heather Bartlett) of Medway, MA, and Benjamin Daubney (Molly) of Stoneham, MA, his aunt and uncle, Gail and Robert Beidler of Lafayette Hill, PA, and his many cousins and friends.
