John Warren Mason, 93, of North Charleston, South Carolina, died Wednesday, December 9, 2015. His Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, December 15, 2015 in the Advent Lutheran Church, 3347 Rivers Avenue at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. North Area Chapel, 2119 Dorchester Road.
John was born October 20, 1922 in Hampton, Virginia, son of the late John Addison Mason and the late Marguerite Gladwell Mason. He served in the United States Navy as a gunners mate on the USS Morrison during WWII and then in civil service as an electrical electronics engineering technician. After retiring from civil service he worked for Parker Instrument Company.
He is survived by his daughters, Ellen Sue Vick (Tony) of Okmulgee, OK and Elizabeth Ann Mason of North Charleston; grandchildren, Brandon Bryan Butler (Anna) and Trevor Warren Butler (Melia), both of Rock Hill, SC and Lane Garrett Vick and Cheyanne Nicole Vick, both of Okmugee, OK; as well as two great-grandchildren, Johnny and Adalyn Butler.
John was predeceased by his first wife, Emily Fender Mason; his second wife and mother of his children, Havalia Parker Mason; as well as two brothers and one sister.
