John Dale Liles, 72, husband of the late Dorothy R. Jowers Liles of Mt. Pleasant, SC passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2010 in a local hospital.  The Funeral Service for John D. Liles will be Tuesday, December 21, 2010 in J. HENRY STUHR MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL at 2:00 pm.  Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens with full military honors. The family will receive friends at the Mount Pleasant Chapel on Monday, December 20, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.  Mr. Liles was born on February 21, 1938 in Advance, Missouri.  He was the son of the late Virgil I. Liles and Mary Jane Lacrox Liles. He retired after 20 years as a Senior Chief Machinist Mate from the United States Navy. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion Post # 136.  He is survived by his three sons, Richard F. Liles and his wife, Eve of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Rodney Liles, Sr. and his wife, Pamela of North Charleston, SC, and Rodney Liles, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, SC; three brothers, Jimmy Liles of Labadie, MO, Jeffrey Liles of Vallejo, CA and Joe Liles of Clearwater, FL;  four sisters, Judith Patterson of Winfield, KS, Janet Smith of Sikeston, MO, Joanna Henderson of Dexter, MO and Jennifer Clemons of Clearwater, FL; three grandchildren, Richard J. Liles, Addie S. Liles and Cailyn D. Liles all of Mt. Pleasant, SC; one great-grandson, Lamont Wilson and special family friends, Harold and Sherry Wigfall.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Liles, originally from Leander, TX.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ralph H. Johnson, VA Medical Center, 109 Bee Street, Charleston, SC 29401.
