John Tilton Lancaster, 71, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, beloved husband of Stacia Louise Brown Lancaster, entered into eternal rest Sunday, September 9, 2018. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 19, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
John was born March 1, 1947 in Lumber City, Georgia, son of the late Edward Eli Lancaster and Elizabeth Carrie Beidelman Lancaster. He devoted 36 years to the Medical University of South Carolina and retired from the IT department as a financial project manager. John was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Mount Pleasant, where he sang in the choir. He was also a US Army Veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Stacia Lancaster; two daughters and a son: Carrie Elizabeth Lancaster of Mount Pleasant, SC, Lindsey Ann Fuller (Corbin Fuller) of James Island, SC, and Justin Lee Dworschak of Puyallup, WA; three brothers, Charles Marion Lancaster, Edward Eli Lancaster, Jr., and Dallas Barry Lancaster; and numerous nieces and nephews.
John lived his life loving and serving his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a very devoted loving husband and father. He had a love for his wife, his soulmate that was unyielding and never swayed from its path of pure, simple, true love. John loved spending his time cooking, cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, playing guitar, spending time with family in the sunshine, dancing in the kitchen with his wife, and helping others.
