John Albert Jowers, 77, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Linda Jowers entered into eternal rest Sunday, April 7, 2024. His Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2024 in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Downtown Chapel, 232 Calhoun Street at 1:00 pm. Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Downtown Chapel. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.
John was born October 12, 1946 in Hemingway, South Carolina, son of Lonnie Albert Jowers and Creola Tanner Jowers. John attended James Island High School, and attended University of South Carolina. He was in Facilities Maintenance, at Trident Tech. John proudly served in the US Army, attending helicopter flight school and transferring to Defense Atomic Support Agency. He was a lifetime member of NRA. He was a Master Mason of James Island Masonic Lodge. He was President of SC Battleground Preservation Trust. Along with spending time with family, he had a love for history and enjoyed civil war reenactment. Uncle Johnny was loved by numerous nephews and nieces.
He is survived by his two sons, John David (Kelly) Jowers, Jeffrey Daniel (Sherri) Jowers; two brothers, Allan Moses (Ann Marie) Jowers, Ronald Wayne (Pat) Jowers; two grandsons, Jeremy David Jowers, Andruw Wyatt Jowers; three granddaughters, Hayley Marie Jowers, Aubrey Danielle Pitts, Ashlyn Elizabeth Jowers; great-granddaughter, Evelyn Daisy Pitts. He was predeceased by his grandson, Austin Daniel Jowers.
