John Derrell "Butch" Jackson

John Derrell "Butch" Jackson, 61, of Awendaw, South Carolina, husband of Deborah Blair Jackson died Thursday, February 16, 2017. His Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, February 21, 2017 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 3:00 pm. Interment will follow in Wilson Cemetery, 761 Wilson Cemetery Road, Awendaw. The family will receive friends at the funeral chapel on Monday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Butch was born January 19, 1956 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late John James Jackson and Phelis Alvin Taylor. He was a US Army veteran and worked as a commercial fisherman. He was a member of Ocean Grove United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years; his daughter, Jessica Jackson Jurica (Patrick) of Summerville, SC; two sons, Jonathan Jackson (Angela) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and Joshua Jackson (Laurie) of McClellanville, SC; his twin brother, William "Buddy" Jackson (Linda) of Cross, SC; his sister, Joyce Jackson Waters of Summerville, SC; eight grandchildren, Dylan Jackson, Gabe Ryan, Katie Jackson, Zoey Jackson, Emma Jackson, Holden Jurica, Elise Jurica, and John D. Jackson, II; and three step-grandchildren, Amber Martin, Emily Martin, and Josh Martin. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeremy Jackson.
