John "Jack" Durward Holly, Jr., 91, of Charleston, South Carolina, widower of Ruth Jane Ehrhardt Holly, entered into eternal rest Thursday, July 30, 2015. His Funeral Service will be held Sunday, August 2, 2015, in Lutheran Church of The Redeemer, 714 Riverdale Drive, at 2:00 p.m. Interment with military honors will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday, August 1, 2015, in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
John was born December 24, 1923 in Charleston, SC, son of the late John D. Holly and Gertrude Smith Holly. He was a WWII United States Navy Veteran. John retired from Southern bell as a line foreman. He was a member of theTelephone Pioneers of America, Jackson Lodge 206, AFM, and the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer.
He is survived by his three sons, John D. Holly, III of Harrisburg, PA, David James Holly of Greenville, SC, and Timothy Ehrhardt Holly of James Island, SC; two sisters, Patti Holly Herrin of Charleston, SC, and Virginia Holly Swintz of Greenville, SC; ten grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.
