John "Jack" D. Bowe passed on to a better place on June 8, 2017. He was born on January 24, 1919 in Hackensack, NJ son of Helen Demerest Bowe and Thomas Francis Bowe. His summers were spent in Bay Head as a lifeguard. He graduated from Dartmouth College excelling on the football and swimming team while getting a degree in civil engineering. A fifth year was spent at MIT receiving a masters in aeronautical engineering. Serving in the Navy, he became a Lt. Commander stationed in Florida. After his discharge he went to Kansas City, MO where he met the love of his life Jacquline Welch. They moved to Basking Ridge, NJ, where he established Bowe Construction. His career in development eventually led to Jamaica where he & his partner established the Trelawny Club.
In retirement, Jack & Jackie discovered Charleston, making Seabrook their home in 1976; enjoying golf and continuing to travel extensively with friends and family. They moved to Bishop Gadsden in 2006 along with many old friends; making new friends along the way.
He is survived by his wife, Jacquline and her two sons and their wives, Richard F. Moseley (Marsha) and Stephen P. Moseley (Susan). He is also survived by his four grandsons, Richard Jr., David, Peet & Adam Moseley and eight great grandchildren.
There will be a memorial service held on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. in the Bishop Gadsden Chapel with a reception following in the Sun Porch.
