John C. Barry Hart

John C. Barry Hart, Sr., 65, of Johns Island, South Carolina, husband of Linda Brunson Hart entered into eternal rest Monday, March 7, 2016. His funeral service will be held Friday, March 11, 2016 in Stono Baptist Church, 953 Main Road, at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Johns Island Presbyterian Churchyard 2550 Bohicket Road. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 10, 2016 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, Charleston, SC, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Barry was born June 2, 1950 in Charleston, SC, son of John W. Hart and Miriam Swink Hart. He attended St. Johns High School where he played football on the 1968 State Championship Team. Barry was a member of the Johns Island Planning Commission. He served on the Johns Island Constituent School Board for eight years, Commissioner for St. Johns Fire District for 12 1/2 years, served on the Berkeley Co-op Board for 22 years. Barry was the owner of Hart and Son Roofing for 42 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #304 of Johns Island, Scottish Rites and Shriners.

He is survived by his wife, Linda B. Hart of Johns Island, SC, son, John C. B Hart, Jr., of Johns Island, SC; sister Muriel Hart Jennings (Michael) of Goose Creek, SC. He was predeceased by his parents, and his brother Richard Hart.
