John Joseph Groves, 85, of North Charleston, SC, husband of Eleanor Anne Johnstone Groves, died Sunday, July 31, 2011.

Born June 21, 1926 in Charleston, SC he was one of four children of George Groves and Lillian Gerard Groves.  He was a US Navy veteran of WWII and retired from the US Air Force. He also retired as an electronics inspector at the Charleston Naval Shipyard. 

Mr. Groves is survived by his wife of 54 years, Eleanor Groves of North Charleston, SC; two daughters, Jennifer Nance and Erin Kane; grandchildren, Andrew Wolf and his wife Grace and Landis Krzyzaniak; brothers, George Groves and his wife Helen and William Groves and his wife Patricia.  He was preceded in death by his great-grandchild, Aine Rose.

The memorial service with military honors will be held in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, Thursday, August 4, 2011 at 2:00 PM.
