John Harry Gleason, 93, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of the late Elizabeth Jean Wezwick Gleason died Monday, February 18, 2019. His Funeral Service will be held Friday, March 1, 2019 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 10:00 am. The family will greet friends following the service.
John was born July 31, 1925 in Jersey City, New Jersey, son of the late John Gleason and the late Wilemina Kristina Constable Gleason. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and was a member of the Masons for 50 years. John worked as an automobile mechanic.
John was predeceased by his first wife, Edna, and his sister, Carol Ann Meyer.
He is survived by four step-sons, a step-daughter, eight step-grandchildren; and his two nieces, Lynn Lypen, Lori Ruttan and their families.
