John Brian Fitzgerald, 45, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Brooke Wagner Nitterhouse passed peacefully into eternal rest of natural causes on Monday, January 13, 2020. His Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, January 19, 2020 in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 3:00 pm. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Red Bank, New Jersey. The family will receive friends Sunday in the Mount Pleasant Chapel from 2:00 until time of the service.
Fitz was born September 24, 1974 in Long Branch, New Jersey, son of Brian Storey Fitzgerald and Kathleen Kellenyi Fitzgerald. He was a graduate of James Madison University with a BA in Music and a graduate of the Charleston School of Law. Fitz was a project manager with Diversified Media Group, LLC. He was a talented musician and keyboardist for Runaway Gin. He was a builder of furniture as an amateur woodworker, and loved the ocean and his dogs. Through the years, as their big brother, he always encouraged and supported his three little brothers, teaching them especially all about football and hockey.
He is survived by his wife, Brooke Nitterhouse of Mt. Pleasant, SC; his parents Brian and Kathleen Fitzgerald of Red Bank, NJ; brothers, Rory G. Fitzgerald (Sarah) and Glenn T. Fitzgerald, both of Red Bank, NJ and Kyle B. Fitzgerald (Brittany) of New York, NY; Nephew, Brody Fitzgerald and Niece, Shea Fitzgerald. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bernard and Margaret Kellenyi and paternal grandparents, Thomas and Ann Fitzgerald.
