After serving as teacher and librarian at Manna Bible Institute in Philadelphia, John later organized a resource center, Kairos, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was involved in the Men's movement "Promise Keepers," supported missions and served as coordinator of Church volunteers doing community service work in Juarez, Mexico. Upon retirement he served as Pastoral Associate for Mission to the World and taught a weekly Bible Study in Spanish for inmates at the Federal Detention Center in Philadelphia.
