John Mehmet Evangelista, 20, of Summerville, SC, died Monday, April 9, 2018. The family will receive friends Sunday, April 15, 2018 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 pm. A graveside funeral service will be announced at a later date.

John was born September 24, 1997 in Summerville, SC, son of Sukran Tiken Kaplan and Joe Evangelista. He graduated from Goose Creek High School/Berkeley School of The Arts in 2016 and was attending Trident Technical College for computer programming. He loved his Aikido class and the sport of Fencing. He was an artist who loved to draw and paint, enjoyed making robotics (especially Gundam robots) and loved history. He enjoyed taking French and his class called him "Napoleon". He will be greatly missed by his relatives and good friends from the United States, Turkey and Roatán Honduras.

He is survived by his mother and father, step-father, Bulent Kaplan of Summerville, SC; aunts, Maria Evangelista of Johns Island, SC and Josephine Bivens (Aunt Gigi) of Johns Island, SC and numerous aunts, cousins and uncles.
