John Virgil Duley

November 10, 1921 — February 5, 2012

John Virgil Duley, 90, husband of Helen May Jonscher Duley of Mt. Pleasant, SC passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2012. The relatives and friends of John Duley are invited to attend his Memorial Service on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at the Rodenberg Chapel in Franke at Seaside at 10:30 am. Burial will be private. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR MOPUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.

John was born on November 10, 1921 in Ryan, Iowa, son of the late Augustus Edward Duley and Annie Pearl Hoover Duley. He attended George Washington University and served in the United States Army during World War II in the South Pacific. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity and was active in the honor guard. He was also a member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Annandale, Virginia and was always very active in the church.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Helen Duley of Mt. Pleasant, SC; four daughters, Kathleen Duley and her husband, Carroll Huntress, of Scottsdale, AZ, Carol Buckingham and her husband, Jay of North Charleston, SC, Betsy Gunther and her husband, Tom, of Washington, PA and Jan Allio and her husband, Chris, of Parkton, MD; Adopted Son, Howard Wiseman of Yorktown, VA; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Devota Connor.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to a charity of one's choice.
