John Martin Cadle, Jr., 79, of Ravenel, South Carolina, husband of Susan Carol Custer Cadle entered into eternal rest Sunday, February 8, 2015.
The family will receive friends Tuesday in Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. His Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, February 11, 2015 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 10:00 a.m. Interment with military honors will be in Beaufort National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
John was born December 21, 1935 in Princeton, West Virginia, son of the late John Martin Cadle and Julia Bell Akers Cadle. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and retired as a Petty Officer First Class after 20 years of service. Following his naval career, he worked for the Department of Defense at the Charleston Naval Base and retired as a Rigger from Shop #72 at the Charleston Naval Shipyard. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve and a Vietnam veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Susan Carol Custer Cadle of Ravenel, SC; one daughter, April Kirkland and her husband, Mike of Ravenel, SC; one son, William Cadle and his wife, Margie of Moncks Corner, SC; one step son, John Anthony Custer of Blacksburg, VA, two granddaughters, Julia M. Cadle and Leighann Elizabeth Cadle; two step grandsons, Brayden M. Kirkland and Jordan Custer.
