John Johnson Bissell

John Johnson Bissell, Jr., 70, of Mount Pleasant, SC, husband of Louise Hammann Bissell, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 5, 2013. The relatives and friends of Johnson Bissell are invited to attend his Funeral Service Wednesday, January 9, 2013 in St. Philip's Church, 142 Church Street, Charleston, at 12:00 Noon. Burial will follow in Christ Episcopal Churchyard, Mt. Pleasant. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 8, in the J.HENRY STUHR, INC. DOWNTOWN CHAPEL from 5:00 until 7:00 PM.

Mr. Bissell was born April 11, 1942 in Charleston, SC, son of the late John Johnson Bissell, Sr. and Margaret Patterson Bissell. He retired from Bell South as a sales representative with the Yellow Pages, and worked for many years with Read & Read Realty. He was member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church, a past Steward of the South Carolina Society, and a member of the Carolina Yacht Club.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years; his son, John Johnson Bissell, III, of Mt. Pleasant; his daughter, Cantey Louise Bowman and her husband Dwight of Mt. Pleasant; his sister, Margaret Patterson Fulcher of McClellanville, SC; his grandson, Charlton Vaughn Bowman of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and his niece, Ali Fulcher. .
