John Caesar Bernens

John Caesar Bernens, 89, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Pamela "PJ" Gartin Bernens entered into eternal rest Saturday, July 13, 2013. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 from 5 pm to 7pm in J. HENRY STUHR INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, 232 Calhoun Street, Charleston, SC. Services at Arlington National Cemetery will be announced for a later date.

Mr. Bernens was born November 25, 1923 in Cincinnati, Ohio, son of Leonard Clement Bernens and Marguerite Kupper Bernens. He was a veteran of the US Army having served in WWII. He was a retired Government Contractor for the Department of Defense. He was a graduate of Xavier University, obtained his Masters Degree from University of California at Berkeley and graduated with a Law Degree from Catholic University.He is survived by his wife, Pamela "PJ" Gartin Bernens of Charleston, SC; two daughters, Celia M. B. Kerr of Seattle, WA and Patricia S. Bernens of Bloomington, IN; he is also survived by four grandchildren.
