John Robert Bender

John Robert Bender, 72, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Gerda Pauline Laible Bender passed away on Friday, February 27, 2015. His Funeral Service will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, March 5, 2015 in the St. Johannes Lutheran Church, 48 Hasell Street. Interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 5, 2015 in Gatch Hall at the church from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.

John was born November 24, 1942 in Cincinnati, Ohio, son of the late Dr. Edward James Bender and Kathryn Wellen Bender. He attended St. Johannes Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Gerda Pauline Laible Bender of Mount Pleasant, SC; his sons, Matthew John Bender and his wife, Heather Bender of Wilmington, DE, and Andrew Edward Bender and his wife, Elinor Elizabeth Actipis of San Francisco, CA; his grandson, Otto Justus Bender; his brothers, Dr. Thomas Arthur Bender of Cincinnati, OH and Edward James Bender of Cincinnati, OH; and his sisters, Mary Bender of Cincinnati, OH and Kathryn Bender of Cincinnati, OH.
