John Francis Bauman, 100, of Mount Pleasant, SC died October 30, 2015, at Hospice of Charleston after a short illness.
He retired in 1981 after 35 years working for Crescent Box Corporation in Philadelphia before relocating from Clayton, N.J., to Mount Pleasant. Sergeant Bauman was an Army veteran and served over three years during World War II with the 43rd Infantry Division in the Battle of Luzon and with the Americal Division during the occupation of Japan.
Four weeks ago his entire family and neighbors gathered at Snee Farm Country Club to celebrate his 100th birthday and to pay tribute to an exceptional
life that was lived to the fullest.
Surviving wife of 73 years, Jean Stay Bauman; son John H. of Southport, North Carolina; son Robert N. of Roswell, Georgia; Nancy Bauman of Southport and Carolyn Bauman of Roswell; granddaughters Leslie S. Fisher of Henrico, Virginia, and Christina A. Bauman of Wilmington, North Carolina; grandsons Jonathan R. Bauman of Acworth, Georgia, Dr. John A. Bauman of Durham, North Carolina, and Jordan G. Bauman of Smyrna, Georgia; great-grandchildren Gray and Norelle Bauman of Acworth, Henry and Charlotte Fisher of Henrico, and James Bauman of Smyrna.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 2, 2015 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road, Mount Pleasant, SC at 1:00 pm. Entombment with military honors will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens.
