John Henry Barkhouse

Entered into eternal rest on the evening of December 17, 2010, John Henry Barkhouse, husband of Nellie Gaddy Barkhouse of Goose Creek, SC.  The relatives and friends of Mr. & Mrs. John Barkhouse are invited to  attend his memorial service in the First Church of God of Summerville, 10383 Highway 78 E, Summerville, SC, 29483, Monday, December 20, 2010, at 7pm. The family will receive friends from 6pm until the time of the service. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, North Charleston.

Mr. Barkhouse was born on June 3, 1940 in Pepperell, Massachusetts, the son of Emory Harold Barkhouse and Catherine Burton Barkhouse.  He retired from the US Navy, was a Vietnam veteran and former Merchant Marine.

He is survived by his wife, Nellie of Goose Creek; four sons: Elvin Baldwin and his wife Rhodora; John Baldwin and his wife Dorie; David Baldwin and his wife Dawn and Tim Baldwin and his wife Missy, all of Goose Creek; three daughters: Carol Connelly and her husband Mel; Patty Wheat and her husband Bruce and Cindy Baldwin all of Goose Creek; twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Church of God of Summerville.
