Joe Larry Gilbreath, 85, of Folly Beach, South Carolina, widower of Connie Young Gilbreath entered into eternal rest Tuesday, September 11, 2012. His Graveside Service will be held Thursday, September 13, 2012 in Plantation Memorial Gardens at 10:00 am. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL. Joe was born January 27, 1927 in Haskell, Texas, son of Roy Deleon Gilbreath and Nova Wilson Gilbreath. He was a Graduate of The Citadel, Class of 1954 and veteran of World War II, US. Merchant Marines and the United States Marine Corps. Joe was a retired Manufacturing Office Manager, a Mason and a member of Summerville Baptist Church. He is survived by his daughter, Judith L. Gilbreath of Folly Beach, SC; sons, Rev. David Gilbreath and wife Jeanne of Mocksville, NC, Roy Gilbreath and wife Sherri of O'Fallon, IL; grandchildren, Catherine Michele Gilbreath, David Larry Gilbreath, Jr. and wife Angela, Timothy Daniel Gilbreath and wife Corey, Roy Allen Gilbreath, Jr., Darsey Nichole Gilbreath; and great-grandchildren, Eden, Josiah and Titus.
