Joanne Marie Smith

Joanne Marie Sherman Smith, 80, of North Charleston, SC, wife of David Luther Smith, entered into eternal rest Friday, November 30, 2012. A memorial service will be held Sunday, December 2, 2012, in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTH AREA CHAPEL, 2119 Dorchester Road at 2:30 pm. The family will receive friends Sunday one hour prior to the service in Stuhr's North Area Chapel.

Joanne was born August 8, 1932 in Saganaw, Michigan, one of three children of the late Earl Sherman and the late Irene Sherman Whitsell.

She is survived by her husband of North Charleston; children, Gwen Irelan (Claude) of Summerville, Kim Walsh of Summerville and Valerie Salvo of Manning, SC; sister, Anita Bissell and brother, Terry Sherman, both of Florida; 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
