Joanne Peterson Harrison

Joanne Peterson Harrison, 75, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of Charles L. Harrison died Thursday, November 29, 2018. Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, December 8, 2018 in the First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant, 681 McCants Drive at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens, 1640 Pennyroyal Road, Georgetown, SC. The family will receive friends in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL on Friday, December 7, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.

Joanne was born July 21, 1943 in Coleman, Georgia, daughter of the late Marvin Edward Peterson and the late Edna Estelle Jones Peterson. She graduated from Georgia Southern University with a B.S. in Education and earned her Masters Degree in Education from The Citadel. She taught for over twenty five years at Stall High School and several years at Stratford High School in Goose Creek. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church Mount Pleasant.

She is survived by her husband, Charles L. Harrison of Mt. Pleasant, SC; son, Michael Scott Harrison of Mt. Pleasant, SC; grandson, Matthew Tyler Harrison of Columbia, SC; daughter-in-law, Tiffany Harrison of Columbia, SC; sister, Janet McConnell of Albany, GA; nephew, Martin W. Meredith, Jr. of Ft. Mill, SC; niece, Elizabeth Sipe of Simpsonville, SC; cousin, Jackie Knighton of Albany, GA; grand nephews, Wesley Meredith and Harrison Sipe and grand nieces, Alexandra Meredith and Meredith Sipe. She was preceded in death by her son Charles Richard Harrison
