Joan Naughton Svenningsen, 89, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Warren Kenneth Svenningsen, entered into eternal rest Thursday, May 26, 2022. Her Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2022 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 12:00 pm and the family will receive friends one hour prior.

Joan was born September 7, 1932 in Staten Island, New York, daughter of the late Samuel Naughton and Veronica Hafner Naughton. She was a retired secretary from Stiles Point Elementary School and The Citadel.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Svenningsen Rapchick of Charleston, SC; son, James Warren Svenningsen of Murrells Inlet, SC; four grandchildren, Chris Rapchick, Nicole Browning, Cory Svenningsen, and Brooke Svenningsen; and a great-grandchild, Olivia Browning.
