Joan Frances Puca (Nana), 86, of Mount Pleasant, SC, entered into eternal rest Saturday, May 15, 2021. Her graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2021 in the Live Oak Memorial Gardens at 11:30 am. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 10:30 am until 11:30 am at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family requests that all who attend, if not vaccinated, please wear a mask and practice social distancing. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel.
Joan was born June 6, 1934 in Charleston, SC, a daughter of the late Charles Brown and Lula Driggers Brown. She was predeceased by her four brothers and three sisters. Joan retired from banking after 35 years of service. She lived at the Sherman House for over 20 years, where she enjoyed all the activities, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Joan will be remembered for her smile and her laugh.
She is survived by her daughters, Gina Puca Sharpe (David), of Lexington, SC and Sharon Puca Chaplin (Steve), of Hollywood, SC; her son, August Angelo Puca (Elizabeth), of James Island, SC; her grandsons, Stevie Chaplin (Sarah), of Atlanta, GA, Matthew Chaplin (Cassie), of Charleston, SC, James McCutchen (Allison), of Gilbert, SC, Michael McCutchen (Libby), of Marrietta, GA and Nicholas Puca, of Charleston, SC; her great-grandchildren, Landon, Cason and Emery McCutchen, Mia and Jack McCutchen, and Lettie Chaplin. Joan is also survived by a very, very special friend, Marlin Carroll, and several nieces and nephews.
