The relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service in All Saints Lutheran Church Mt. Pleasant, Thursday morning December 30, 2010 eleven o'clock. Interment Private. Family will receive friends at the Church Social Hall following the service
Joan was born March 25, 1931 in Florence, SC, daughter of the late William Elias Koopman and Eunice Scarborough Koopman. Joan graduated Memminger High School, and was a member of St. Barnabas Lutheran Church and retired as a Pharmacy Technician.
She is survived by two sons: Happy Nick Lempesis, Jr. of Wadmalaw Island, SC and Peter Elias Lempesis (Staci) of James Island, SC; daughter: Dianne L. Rustin (Dowse) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; brother, William E. Koopman, Jr. (Carolyn) of Charleston, SC; ten grandchildren, Happy Lempesis, III, Jesse L. Lempesis, Charlton A. Rustin, Daniel E. Lempesis, C. Andrew Rustin, Jill E. Lempesis, Holly Lempesis, Joseph Lempesis, Ashley Rustin Settlemeyer (Tim), Dowse D. Rustin, Jr., (Joanna), two great grandchildren, Luke Lempesis, and Brittian Lempesis, five nieces Marcia P. Patrick (Olin), Cathy Price, Carol Sudak, Anne C. Moye, and Christy Coker and three nephews, Rev. Matthew O. Moye (Marcia), William E. Koopman, III (Carol), and John Koopman, Jr. and sister in law Dena L. Calamas.
