Joan L. Buswell, 80, of Goose Creek, SC, widow of Warren E. Buswell, entered into eternal rest Saturday, November 16, 2013. Her memorial service will be held in Peace Presbyterian Church, Thursday, November 21, 2013 at 11:00 am. Inurnment will be held in Beaufort National Cemetery Friday, November 22, 2013 at 12:00 noon. The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 20, 2011, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in J. HENRY STUHR, INC, NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, N. Charleston.
Joan was born May 31, 1933 in Roslyn, Washington, one of four children of the late Albert Laudinsky and the late Adeline Fera Laudinsky. She graduated from Cle Elum High School in 1951, was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a retired public school library assistant at Westview Elementary School. Joan was a member of Peace Presbyterian Church, a life member and treasurer for many years of the Presbyterian Women, Circle Chairman and Bazaar Chairman. She was also a member of the Goose Creek Garden Club, American Legion Post 166, Ladies Auxillary of the VFW, Royal Neighbors (an extension of Woodmen of America), Girls State representative, Girl Scout leader and a former active member of the Goose Creek High School Band Boosters.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Lynne Altman (Joe) of Goose Creek; sister, Rosalie Wasisco (Alex) of Renton, WA; and dear friends, Glenna Best, Marguerite Brown, Nancy Berendse and Sandy DeWitt, all of Goose Creek. Joan was predeceased by two brothers: Elmer Laudinsky and Ernie Laudinsky.
