Jimmie Joe Fitch, Jr., 77, of North Charleston, South Carolina, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018. His funeral service will be held Monday, February 26, 2018, in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTH AREA CHAPEL, 2119 Dorchester Road at 11:00 am. Interment with military honors will follow at Sunset Memorial Cemetery, St. Stephen, SC. The family will receive friends Sunday, February 25, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm in Stuhr North Area Chapel.
Jimmie was born January 28, 1941 in Saint Stephen, SC, son of the late Jimmie Joe Fitch, Sr. and the late Leona Keller Fitch. He was a veteran of the US Army and stationed in Miami during the Cuban Missile Crises. Jimmie received two associate degrees at Trident Technical College. He retired as an inside machinist at the Charleston Naval Shipyard and was an Elder at the Rhett Avenue Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Janie Yaun Fitch of North Charleston, SC; two sons, Joshua Allen Fitch and Jimmie Joe Fitch, III (Shannon Sears) of Charleston, SC; daughter, Janielee Fitch Brackett (Charles) of VA; six grandchildren, Cassandra Elizabeth Brackett, James Edward Dickerson, Josephine Midori Brackett, Christopher Standish Brackett, Elijah Charles Fitch and Evelyn Charlotte Fitch; brother, Williard Derrill Fitch.
