Jillyn Jennifer Michelle Mcamis

Entered into eternal rest on the morning of September 13, 2011.  Residence, Goose Creek, SC.  The relatives and friends of Jillyn Jennifer Michelle McAmis are invited to attend her funeral service in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, North Charleston, Monday, September 19, 2011, at 4:00 pm.  Friends may call at Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel one hour prior to the service.

Jillyn was born October 26, 2002, in North Charleston, SC.  She was the eight year old daughter of Gary McAmis and Harmony Jones McAmis.  She was in the third grade at Boulder Bluff Elementary, where she was the Student of the Month for Honesty and Integrity in April 2011.  Jillyn was the best reader in her class, always making up poems and short stories and she liked to dance and sing.   Her role model was Taylor Swift and when she grew up, she wanted to be a Veterinarian/Rock Star.  Her favorite colors were black, red, and white but she leaned toward purple when picking out her clothes.  Jillyn was baptized in St. John the Beloved Catholic Church in Summerville, SC and she was the happiest when she was surrounded by water, making the beach or the pool her favorite places to be.

She is survived by her mother, Harmony McAmis and her life partner, Joshua Mashburn, of Goose Creek, SC; father, Gary L. McAmis of Summerville, SC; brother, Jayson McAmis; grandparents, Terry and Janice Mashburn of Goose Creek, SC, Casey Jones and his wife, Jean Kelty of Clinton, IA, Mary Elizabeth "Betsy" McAmis of Summerville, SC and Shauna Sethman of Summerville, SC; aunts and uncles, Casey Jones, Jasmine Sethman, Jonathan and Venessa Mashburn; and lots of family and friends.   

Jillyn will be greatly missed by her family and friends.  Her family requests that everyone wear appropriate summer dress for the service and to bring bubbles to blow following the service as a way to say "Goodbye" to Jillyn, for bubbles always made her giggle.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice in Jillyn's name.
