Jill Steigman Johnson

March 20, 1947 — December 4, 2011

Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of Sunday, December 4, 2011, Jill Steigman Johnson, wife of Raymond Harris Johnson. Residence, Charleston, South Carolina. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Harris Johnson are invited to attend a Celebration of Remembrance in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL Saturday, December 10, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.

Jill was born on March 20, 1947 in Irvington, New Jersey, daughter of the late William F. Steigman and the late Corrine Benduga Steigman. She was a graduate of Radford University and received a Masters in Education from The Citadel. Mrs. Johnson taught elementary education in Montgomery County, Virginia from 1975-1982. She resumed teaching in 1986 at Summerville Elementary School where she retired in 2008.

In addition to her husband of 43 years, Raymond Johnson of Charleston; Jill also leaves behind a daughter, Ashley Padgett (Ron) of Charleston; son, Christian Johnson (Danielle) of Atlanta, GA; brother, William F. Steigman, Jr. (Brenda) of Charlottesville, VA; sister-in-law, Kay Crute; two grandchildren, Abigail Jillian Padgett and Madelyn Dorothy Padgett both of Charleston. Jill was preceded in death by a brother Glen Steigman.
