Jessie Robert Smith

Jessie Robert Smith, 76, of Hanahan, SC, husband of Gail Singletary Smith, died Tuesday, March 22, 2016. His memorial service will be held Saturday, April 2, 2016 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., North Area Chapel, 2119 Dorchester Road at 1:00 pm. The family will receive friends Saturday one hour prior to the service.

Jessie, a US Army Veteran, was born June 10, 1939 in Charleston, SC, son of Emmie Steen Smith and the late Joseph Smith. He was an industrial electrician working in fiberglass shingle manufacturing. He was retired from Vetrotex. Jessie was a member of the Coastal Carolina Corvette Club in Charleston and attended Westview Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Gail S.Smith; son, Jessie Robert Smith II (Meredith) all of Hanahan, SC; sisters, Ara Potter (Bill) and Louise Parish Briggs (Lee); and mother, Emmie Steen Smith all of North Charleston, SC; three grandchildren: Christian Smith, Jason Reynolds and Nevaeh Reynolds.
