Jesse Wade Beard

Jesse Wade Beard, 73, of Goose Creek, SC, husband of Frances Beard, died Friday, July 2, 2010, in White Oak Manor.

Born December 17, 1936 in Aiken, SC he was one of five children of John Dunbar Beard, Sr. and Mary Lee Smith Beard.  He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.  He was an electrician by trade and had worked in the construction business.  He was last employed as a sales consultant with George Jones Mobile Homes.  His favorite thing to do was "chillin" with his kids, grandkids and great-grandchildren.

Mr. Beard is survived by his wife of 51 years, Frances Beard of Goose Creek, SC; daughters, Rhonda Beard Burgess of Flowery Branch, GA and Anitra "Doodle" Beard Gilbert of Goose Creek, SC; son, Robert Dunbar Beard of Harleyville, SC; brother, J. D. Beard, Jr.; and sister, Ethel Hutto both of Aiken, SC; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a son, Jesse "Jay" Wade Beard, Jr.; grandchild, Gary Gilbert and two brothers, Calvin Beard and Demeris Beard.

The funeral service will be held in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, Sunday, July 4, 2010 at 2:00 PM.  Interment with military honors Monday, July 5, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Carolina Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel Saturday, July 3, 2010 between 6:00 and 8:00 PM.
