Jerry Wayne Lavender, 68, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Jo A. Lavender died Monday, June 17, 2019. His memorial service will be held Thursday, June 20, 2019 in the Seacoast Church Chapel - Mount Pleasant, 750 Long Point Road at 2:00 pm. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.
Jerry was born February 11, 1951 in Toledo, Ohio, son of the late Fred Albert Lavender and the late Evelyn Virginia Foster Lavender. He served in the United States Army, was a Vietnam Veteran and worked in automobile sales. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed playing golf. Jerry was a self taught keyboard player and spent many years traveling with the Bob Wurst and the Countrified/Buckeyes Band.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jo A. Lavender of Mt. Pleasant, SC; three daughters, Kelly Scott (Deke) of Canal Winchester, OH, Heather Lavender Allen (Jayson) of San Jose, CA, and Crystal Firsdon (Rick) of Brownstown, MI; son, Joseph J. Mulinix of Napoleon, OH; six grandchildren, Anna and Lily Scott, Evelyn and Vivian Allen, Ricky and Max Firsdon; brother, Jeff Lavender (Cindy) of Grand Rapids, OH; three sisters, Barb Myers (Ron) of Whitehouse, OH, Kim Lavender of Whitehouse, OH, and Pam Bryant (Harold) of Greensboro, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Marsha and Sharon.
