Jerry C. Fewox, 81, of Folly Beach, South Carolina, loving wife of Gordon G. Fewox, entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 3, 2023. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 10, 2023 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Her graveside funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 11, 2023 in Live Oak Memorial Gardens at 2:00 pm.
Jerry was born September 26, 1941 in Clinton, South Carolina, daughter of the late Luther Carson and Virginia Starnes Carson. Jerry grew up in Charleston, South Carolina and graduated from James Island High School. Jerry married the love of her life, Gordon G. Fewox. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother whose family was her all. Jerry worked in several Civil Services jobs, including The Veterans Administration Hospital and the Medical University of SC. Her last position was at the National Marine Fisheries on James Island.
Jerry never met a stranger and was kind and loving to everyone she came into contact with in her daily life. Jerry was especially close to her large family. She loved nature, travel, dining out, and she treasured living on Folly Beach in her later years.
In addition to her husband of 62 years, Jerry is survived by her daughter, Melonie Fewox Mallard; her son, Gordon Fewox Jr. (Jeneen); and her dearly loved grandchildren, Brandon Mallard and Taylor Fewox. Jerry is also survived by her sisters, Loretta Schwartzman (Larry), Tina C. Bennett (Bill), Susan DuPre (Jimmy) and Kim C. Hilton (Dale); brother, Daniel S Carson (Jan); and many beloved nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations can be made in Jerry's memory to the Morris Island Lighthouse at SaveTheLight.org. Jerry loved the lighthouse and especially sunrises and the times that the light was actually lighted by the foundation.
