Jerrold Furman Brown

Jerrold Furman Brown, 87, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Rachel Powell Brown entered into eternal rest Monday, January 9, 2023. His Graveside Service will be held Friday, January 13, 2023 in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Road at 12:00 pm. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel.  

Jerrold was born May 16, 1935 in Kingstree, South Carolina, son of the late Arthur Furman Brown, Sr. and the late Russell King Brown. His love of flying and aviation led to being a private pilot and a career working on aircraft for the U. S. Air Force and later instructing for Boeing. He was a veteran of both the US Navy and the US Air Force Reserves. He loved his dogs, reading, and was an avid historian of military war history. He will be remembered for the way he loved his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rachel Brown; daughter, Patricia Brown Ballard (Bill) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; two sons, Furman Lee Brown (Susan Coughlin), Russell Henry Brown (Lynn Harris) of Mt. Pleasant; four grandchildren, Catherine Rachel Ballard, Alison Ballard (Ramsey), Carolyn Micali (Peter), Kristin Schultz (Ryan); sister, Lillian Strawhorn (Johnny) of Easley, SC; and sister, Frances Lefkowitz of NJ, and brother, Arthur Furman Brown, Jr. of TN.

Flowers will be accepted in his memory.
