After a 2 ½ year battle with Cancer, Jenny West, 64 of Elms Plantation, N. Charleston, SC, formerly of McVille, ND, and Grand Forks, ND died November 4, 2011 at 12:41 pm in her apartment, at The Bridge Assisted Living, N. Charleston, SC.
Jenny E. West was born September 3, 1947, in Crookston, MN, the daughter of Robert and Eleanor Anderson of Fisher, MN. Jenny grew up in Flint, MI and attended Flushing Community School. Jenny married Charles (Chuck) J. Leonard of Flushing, MI in 1963. Jenny and Charles had two children, Charles (Chuck) Leonard and Ronald (Ron) Leonard. 1973 Jenny and Chuck divorced. Jenny moved to McVille to open "Jenny's Cellar Salon" in 1974. Jenny owned and operated the salon until 1985, when she closed the business to attend college at UND, Grand Forks, ND. Jenny was briefly married to Dennis West. Jenny graduated UND in May of 1991 with two degrees. Bachelor of Science –Magna Cum Laude – 4 years Honors-Senior Honors and Bachelor of Arts-Magna Cum Laude.
Jenny met and married Robert (Bob) Peucker in 1992. Bob was a site supervisor for Raytheon Corp. Jenny and Bob traveled around the United States to different Military bases to Project sites. Together, they did lots of sightseeing around the country during their travels. Bob passed away in 1996.
Jenny's last residence was the Elms Plantation, N. Charleston, SC. She was employed by the Charleston Passport Center and retired August 5, 2011.
She is survived by her sons Charles (Karen) Leonard, Devils Lake, ND and Ronald (Elis) Leonard, Charlotte, NC; her brother Robert (Janice) Anderson, Ames, IA. Grandchildren: Michael 29, Jennifer 27, Alicia 28, Matthew 12, Zachary 9. Great-grandchildren: Taylor 7, Mikayla 2, Dre'von 5, Lottie 9.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother Robert and Eleanor Anderson, husband Robert Peucker.
The relatives and friends of Jenny are invited to attend her funeral service in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, Wednesday, November 9, 2011, at 1:00 pm. A private scattering will be held later. Friends may call at Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel on Tuesday, between 1:00 and 3:00 pm.
