Jennie Mae Smoak Tidwell, 97, of Charleston, wife of the late Woodrow Wilson Tidwell, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, July 12, 2012.
The relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service In J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTH AREA CHAPEL, 2119 Dorchester Road, Monday, July 16, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Stuhr's North Are Chapel Monday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
Mrs. Tidwell was born May 18, 1915 in Cope, South Carolina, the daughter of William H. Smoak and Leila Myers Smoak. She was a faithful member of Northbridge Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School for many years. She was a member of the Northbridge Civic Club and the Northbridge Garden Club. She was an avid gardener and loved spending time in her yard taking care of her flowers.
She is survived by one son: Woodrow W. (Bill) Tidwell and his wife Vickie; three grandchildren: Chris Tidwell (Brenda),Kimberly Pieper (Albert) and Eric Tidwell; eight great grandchildren: William Tidwell, Andrew Tidwell, Daniel Tidwell, Brittany Tidwell, Taylor Tidwell, Payton Robinson, Ryan Pieper, Chloe Pieper; four sisters: Georgia Hamilton, Leila Gray, Dorothy Driggers and Jackie Ferstner. She was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters.
