Jennie Cooler Gleason

Jennie Cooler Gleason, 89, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of her late husband of 69 years, John Thomas Gleason, Jr., died on Saturday, June 24, 2017. Jennie was born on March 24, 1928 in Bluffton, SC, daughter of the late Dixon Cooler and the late Thelma Reynolds Cooler. She was one of 12 children and is survived by one sister, Betty Colley of Beaufort, SC and one brother, Raymond Cooler of Indiana. She is also survived by one son, John Thomas Gleason III and his wife Angela of Mt. Pleasant, SC; four daughters: Rosemary Plumblee and her husband Tom of Columbia SC; Retta Leopold and her husband Lowell of Wando, SC; Kathleen Ward and her husband Tobey of Florence, SC; and Brenda Marcil of Chelmsford, MA; eleven grandchildren: Maria Ausiello (Al), Ed Marcil, Stephen Marcil (Emily), Robert Leopold, Matt Cashin (Laura), Bridget Welch (Johnny), John Thomas Gleason IV, Katie Plumblee, Philip Gleason, Michael Plumbee (Allison) and Claire Gleason; seven great grandchildren: Christopher Ausiello, Maura Welch, Ella Welch, Nicholas Ausiello, Sarah Cashin, Daniel Cashin and Genevieve Marcil. She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law Edward Marcil.

Funeral services will be private. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC. The family requests no flowers.
