Jennie Kaufman Garfinkel

Jennie Kaufman Garfinkel, 97, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of Max Garfinkel entered into eternal rest Thursday, June 27, 2013. Her funeral services were held at the graveside in Brith Sholom Beth Israel Cemetery, "Maryville" Friday, June 28, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL.

Jennie was born September 10, 1915 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of Herschel Kaufman and Dora Kirshtein Kaufman. She was a member of Brith Sholom Beth Israel Synagogue and Hadassah.

She is survived by her husband of Charleston, SC; two sons: Howard B. Garfinkel, MD (Sandra) and The Honorable Paul W. Garfinkel (Susan) both of Charleston, SC; seven grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.The family would like to acknowledge and thank two special people in her life, Roslyn Barkowitz and James A. L. Glenn, MD.
