Jeffery was born January 24, 1968 in Portsmouth, VA, son of Ray Louis Pope and Debra Belcher Bates. He was a Professional Truck Driver for Give 2 Get Trucking.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Pope of Goose Creek, his mother and step father, Debra Bates and Robert Bates; two daughters, Ashlyn Casper of Portsmouth, VA and Jasmine Pope of Blacksburg, VA; two sons, Brandon Landers of Chesapeake, VA and Jeffery Pope of Virginia Beach, VA; three sisters: Kimberly Raymond Hamm of Portsmouth, VA, Shannon Raymond Boswood of Currituck, NC and Paula Codwise of Raleigh, NC; brother, John Raymond of North Charleston, SC; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
