Jeanne L. Kirk

Jeanne L. Kirk, 96, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of Lawrence J. Kirk, Sr. entered into eternal rest Monday, October 3, 2022. Her Funeral Service will be held Friday, October 7, 2022, in St. Clare of Assisi (Church of the Holy Cross), 299 Seven Farms Drive at 10:30 am.  Interment will be held in New Jersey at a later date. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel.

Jeanne was born September 16, 1926 in Boston, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Roy Quinlan and the late Grace McGonagle Quinlan.  She graduated from J. E. Burke High School in 1944 as President of Senior Class. She then graduated from Simmons College, Boston in 1948, after which, Jeanne completed an internship in Institutional Management for Aetna Ins. Company, Harford, in1949. She was married for 46 years to Lawrence J Kirk, Sr. who predeceased her in 1996. Jeanne was a resident of Tinton Falls for 47 years then moving to Tinton Woods, Eatontown. Active in and president of St. Dorothea's Confraternity Mothers, she was involved in the church's Mardi Gras for many years. Jeanne loved the performing arts and participated with the Monmouth Strutters dance group for 12 years. She won "Best in State" director of one act plays for the Tinton Falls Womens' Club of Tinton Falls in the 1970s.  Then, with the aid of dedicated parents and school, Jeanne designed "Bottle Capper" a substance abuse prevention program for the Middletown School System and implemented it for 12 years. She was immensely proud of her children, grandchildren and her Bottle Cappers.

She is survived by her children, Stacia Hylton (Ike) of Charleston, SC, Christine Foster, Lance O. Kirk (Cindi), and David Kirk; and grandchildren, Katy Foster, Briana Foster, Lauren Kirk, Sammi Kirk, Mike Kirk, and Christopher Hylton.
