Jean Stone Wade, 87, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Harold Wade, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 9, 2016. Her Funeral Service will be held, Monday, November 14th, in Grace Church Cathedral, 98 Wentworth Street at 11a.m.
Jean was born August 17, 1929 in Nyack, New York, daughter of the late Leland F. Stone and Doris Smith Stone. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Cornell University, Class of 1951.
She was an actress and model, a real estate agent, a marriage and family counselor, the host of a local television program, and the retired co-owner of Carolina Landscape Service. Singing was a big part of her life and she was a member of the Grace Church Choir for 55 years.
She is survived by her son, Derek S. Wade (Kathlyn) of Charleston, SC; two daughters: Leslie Jean Wade of Atlanta, GA, and Evelyn Wade Helfrick, D.V.M. (John) of Mendham, NJ; and six grandchildren: Aubrey Wade (Cesar), Mason Wade, Derek Terry, Stephen Terry, Graham Helfrick, and Evan Helfrick.
Jean was a singular woman who lived a life full of love, family and adventure. She had a smile and kind word for everyone she met, and she will be missed.
