Jean Robinson Taylor, 88, of Mount Pleasant, SC, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026. Born in Williamsburg County on July 17, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Eulas Ira Robinson and Elise Knight Robinson. Jean was raised with her best friend and beloved brother, William Ira Robinson, and attended Georgetown and Andrews High Schools.

On May 17, 1953, Jean married Wyndell Elliott Taylor of Andrews, SC. Together for 73 years, they welcomed three children: Wyndell Michael Taylor (Debbie), Mark Eulas Taylor, and Wendy Elise Taylor.

In 1961, Wyndell and Jean moved to Mount Pleasant, SC, and in 1963 opened an appliance business. They ran Taylor’s Appliances, Heating, and Air, originally Taylor’s Appliances and TVs, which remains a multi generational family business to this day.

Jean was an active member of First Baptist Church of Mount Pleasant, where her three children and three grandchildren were all baptized. She taught generations of Sunday School classes and was affectionately known to the congregation as “Nana Taylor.”

Jean’s greatest joys in life were her three grandchildren by her son Mark: Kay Taylor Turgeon (David), Mary Margaret Taylor-McKenzie (Walker), and Elliott Taylor (Nan).

Jean is survived by her husband, Wyndell Taylor; her children, Mike Taylor (Debbie), Mark Taylor, and Wendy Taylor; her grandchildren, Kay Turgeon (David), Mary Margaret Taylor-McKenzie (Walker), and Elliott Taylor (Nan); her great-grandchildren, Hadley Hunter Hayes, Fisher Snow Hayes, Collins Elliott McKenzie, Ira Elise Turgeon, and Thomas Eulas Taylor; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eulas and Elise Robinson; her brother, Ira Robinson; and her favorite “sister,” Norma Taylor.

A graveside service will be held at Spring Gulley Baptist Church in Andrews, SC, at 3:00 PM on Friday, March 13, 2026. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to The Alzheimer’s Association or First Baptist Church of Spring Gulley.
